Robert McCarthy
BA (Hons) Sports Management and Coaching
Advanced Diplomas in Personal, Leadership & Executive Coaching and in Corporate Wellbeing Coaching
Robert is a founding member of R&B Coaching. He brings his own unique coaching style and use of the firms SELFY wheels to his work with clients in a range of coaching situations and scenarios.
Robert has worked alongside and with a number of high-profile coaches and sports psychologists over the years especially in his very successful GAA football career.
Robert has previously worked with AXA, JN Wine, Lidl, Shamrock Gift Company and Spar.
Qualifications
In addition to his degree in Sports Management and Coaching from the Technological University Dublin (formerly Institute of Technology Blanchardstown) and the Advanced Diplomas from Kingstown College, Robert also holds certificates in Applied Sport Psychology and Golf Psychology Coaching.

Robert is currently undertaking a Masters in Psychology at the University of Wolverhampton.
​
Robert has an individual accreditation and is a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC). He regularly attends CPD events and supervision in line with best practice guidelines.
Key Skills
Robert approaches his work from a position that all individuals and teams have the ability to positively change, and the potential to develop given the right coaching. He always challenges his individual client`s and teams to get the best out of themselves. He is always focused on supporting and encouraging people to maximise their potential in all areas of their life.
Interests
Robert has a big involvement and interest in looking after people`s Mental Health and wants to help change the stigma around it, to make people feel that it is okay to open up and talk about your problems - “It is okay not to be okay”.

Robert was a member of the Dublin GAA senior football panel and was an U21 All Ireland football winner in 2010 with Dublin. He was also a Meath County Championship football winner in 2018 with St. Peter’s Dunboyne and holds numerous other trophies and awards for his sporting achievements.
Robert also currently coaches a senior ladies football club team and at underage level. He has a keen interest in sports generally.

Brendan McCarthy

Brendan is a founding member of R&B Coaching and the Managing Director of BMC Coaching & Consulting Limited (“BMC”) - see section on BMC for further details.

Brendan has nearly 40 years business experience predominantly in the financial services sector.
​
His experience includes accounting, chair roles, directorships executive coaching, investment management, management consulting, mentoring and training. He always provides high quality services to support the growth and development of the companies he works with.
​
Brendan is a successful energetic individual driven by a passion to facilitate high performance within companies and teams and by individuals.
​
Brendan has been engaged at board level by a wide range of entities including Ballybunion Capital, Berkshire Hathaway, Fidelity, the Hartford, Sun Life of Canada, Storebrand/SPP, Talanx/HDI/Sella, UBS/Octium and Unipol/Arca Vita.
Brendan has also previously worked for Irish Life, ICOS, Bank of Ireland Lifetime and Assicurazioni Generali.
Qualifications
Brendan has an Advanced Management Diploma (M. Sc.) in Business and Executive Coaching from the UCD Smurfit Business School, is a Chartered Director with the Institute of Directors and is a qualified accountant.
Brendan has undertaken a vast amount of continuous professional development to maintain his skills as current.
Key Skills
Brendan’s experience of serving on and presenting to boards of regulated entities is of particular interest within the industry, while his personal commitment and dedication to maximising both organisational and individual performance guarantees results.

Brendan has strong, highly regarded people skills and the ability to work harmoniously with those with whom he interacts. He possesses the ability to articulate his pragmatic views in an open, honest and constructive manner. Brendan is also an experienced mentor as well as being a qualified coach.
Interests
Brendan’s father passed on to him a passion for sport which he has embraced and passed on to his own children and grandchildren.

Having played Gaelic football and hockey in his youth, he now focuses on golf and cycling.
​
As well as being a past Captain of Corrstown Golf Club, he is currently Honorary Treasurer and the manager of one of the inter-club teams.
​
Brendan is an avid reader of business books and crime fiction.
